Fresh details on the tribulations of the fallen queen of Ohangla music Lady Maureen emerged revealing how ODM leader Raila Odinga abandoned her to suffer.
Lady Maureen died at 3 am on July 11 in Uriri, Migori County.
ODM party leader Raila Odinga was the first politician to break the news of her death to Kenyans on Social Media where he mourned Lady Maureen saying she was immensely talented, very dynamic, and always adapted to new trends in the very competitive music industry.
The renowned songbird according to people close to her, has been in deep pain since 2018 after she was jailed for nine days in Tanzania for allegedly working in that country without permits.
According to family sources, Lady Maureen’s health started deteriorating forging her to seek help from different hospitals among them Pastor Machage Memorial Hospital in Migori county and Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching & Referral Hospital.
Her close friends abandoned her when the hospital bills skyrocketed and she could no longer pay.
Among those who turned his back on her is Raila Odinga.
The Opposition leader allegedly refused to assist in paying part of her hospital bills.
This forced her to retreat to home care where she was receiving her treatment until her demise.
According to Peter Okoth Medical Superintendent at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Referral Hospital, lady Maureen was discharged on February 20 because she ” was responding well to medication and was getting stable”.
