- Cases of human-wildlife conflict in the Kiandieri area have been on the rise in the last two months.
- Kabue was attacked by an unknown, ‘daring’ animal while on his way to work
- His private parts and right-hand fingers were a bit off.
Julius Kabue, 39, is nursing injuries at the Kerugoya County Referral Han hospital in Kirinyaga County after unknown animal attacked him and took off with his private parts.
Speaking to Daily Statesman from his hospital bed, Kabue narrated that while on his way to 6 am at Kiranja Schools at around 6am when he was attacked by an animal where he struggled with it before biting off his private parts.
He described the unidentified animal as daring.
Neighbors who heard his screams came to his rescue and rushed him to hospital after his private parts and fingers had already been bitten off by the animal that fled after seeing the armed neighbors.
However, two of the neighbours who came to his rescue also sustained minor injuries and were treated at the same facility and discharged.
Area residents are now appealing to the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) to send a team to secure the area which they say is prone to marauding animals to prevent similar attacks in the future.
