Intimidation, extortion and viral news report have placed Coast Regional Police Commander and Mombasa-based Nation Media Group journalists on the public.
Private Detective Jane Mugoh in her damning report of the investigation into the alleged defilement of a five-year old schoolgirl by bus conductor exposed the hand of police commanders, family members and two NTV journalists based in Mombasa.
Accordig to witness statements, the bus in which the girl who was allegedly raped in, there were 14 students and seven teachers who were dropped-off after her.
Government CCTV footage outside Kiembeni police station shows the girl with her aunt walking from the stage after she was dropped.
A statement by senior officials from MajorJoy Academy, indicates, a member of the girl’s family identified as Justus Andati demanded they be compensated but the school declining prompting him to file the case with the police.
Mr. Elijah the suspect was arrested and released on a cash bail after police found no evidence linking him to the alleged defilement since the medical report by Coast General Hospital declared the school girl was not raped.
Denis Onsarigo, a friend of Justus Andati according to reports connected him to NTV journalists- Fatuma & Peter Wanaina. The two then met with the family and visited the school on Thursday last week.
OCS Kiembeni police station received orders from the regional commander to rearrest the suspect who is now in Shimo La Tewa maximum prison pending trial.
The report by Detective Jane Mugo also comes a day after Kisembeni OCS and his junior officers allegedly received threats from Coast regional police ommander.
