Uasin Gishu County Women Representative Gladys Boss Shollei on Thursday said Deputy President Dr.William Ruto is aware his boss president Kenyatta has short-changed him.

The vocal women MP was responding to K24 TV journalist and host of Punchline Anne Kiguta who on Sunday alluded that the president was like to make an alliance with new political friends leaving DP Ruto out.

DP Ruto seems to have been abandoned by State House operatives leaving Cabinet Secretaries allied to President Uhuru Kenyatta running the show.

In 2018, President Uhuru Kenyatta reshuffled his cabinet which saw Interior CS Dr. Fred Matiang’ i elevated as Super CS chairing a Cabinet Committee in charge of implementation of Government projects.

The move by the president that gave more powers to government officials seen to be against DP Ruto’s 2022 presidential ambitions has brought political undertones in the ruling party.

On 14 April 2020 Jubilee Party Secretary-General Raphael Tuju allegedly made illegal changes in the party’s National Management Committee(NMC).

The proposed changes attracted criticism from DP Ruto and legislators allied to him.

However, in defense, Raphael Tuju said the changes were done with the approval of the Party Leader, President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Despite the changes said to have been done with the order of the president, DP Ruto and vocal Tanga Tanga MPs led by Jubilee Party Deputy SG Caleb Kositany and Moses Kuria holding a position that the act was fraud orchestrated by members whose allegiance is elsewhere.

In what appeared as a failed coup by the cabal of ‘kieleweke’ to ouster DP Ruto from Jubilee party, the registrar of political parties ordered Raphael Tuju to settle down the differences in the party after she received 350 letters protesting the changes.

Jubilee Vice-chairman David Murathe, ODM Party Leader Raila Odinga, Senate minority leader James Orengo, and CS Eugene Wamalwa met with Francis Atwoli although many details about the agenda were not revealed.

The Netizens believe that president Kenyatta was operating under the shadow of Mr. David Murathe.

“You can have the party”, Mr. David Murathe said after the meeting, forcing a smile.

The K24 TV through Ann Kiguta’s Punchline show provoked the anger of the legislators allied to the Deputy President.

The show all the ed to Bible in what appeared to place the president to be the Biblical king Sa and his deputy as Biblical David who was to become a king.

Former State House Director of Innovations, Digital and Diaspora Communications Mr. Dennis Itumbi expressed his displeasure with the show, saying the script was written by Mutahi Ngunyi a key member of the Stop Ruto Network.

Itumbi’s reaction ignited debate on social media with activist Bonface Mwangi saying DP Ruto is using “the boy” for a mouthpiece. “The boy” in Mwangi’s analogy was Dennis Itumbi.

On her part, Uasin gishu Women MP in a clip recorded and shared to Social said DP Ruto is aware of every move made by the President and his allies to stop him from clinging to power in 2022.
